I believe the reason both that the $3,000 and this passed out of my recollection is, that with the exception of Crown Rents, I have never during my tenure of Office received any other monies on behalf of the Government other than the two sums mentioned.
The Crown Rents I have remitted to the Treasury every Saturday and between the 10th March and the 26th July I received and forwarded to the Treasury on that account on Saturdays $9,400 - more than a month's revenue.
I am prepared to lay before the Executive Council my Books of Account by which they will see that
